We can supply and fit a made to measure hearth suitable for your stove in many different natural materials such a slate, stone, granite or marble. 

It is worth noting that generally speaking wooden fire surrounds are not suitable for stoves as manufacturers stipulate minimum distances to combustible materials, this can also apply to wooden lintels or decorative beams. This is because stoves give out so much more heat into the room whereas open fires take in vast amounts of air in order to feed combustion, which has a more cooling effect on the surround, and most of the heat produced then disappears up the chimney.

Behind many open fires there is a much large "builders opening" which is suitable for your stove. We can take care of any preparatory work and a lot of our customers prefer this opening to remain plain, but if you would like a replacement surround there is a vast choice available in cast iron or natural stone, all suitable for solid fuels, and they can even be made to your own design.
